PRODUCT REVIEW - MAKEUP REVOLUTION

Image
Anybody heard of Revolution make-up before? Well neither had I until I walked into a Superdrug store. I saw the stand and the first thing that caught my eye was the highlighters. Just wow. They really were stunning so obviously me being the magpie that I am bought two of them. The first one is from the Strobe highlight range so I knew this one was going to be intense. Secondly I bought another one from the Vivid baked highlight range. I'm not going to lie, this one was big disappointment. Very white, very chalky. I would stay clear of this range however the strobe highlight is life itself. So HIGHLIGHTERY! Vivid Baked Highlighter - Golden Lights Strobe Highlighter - Flash Next up I saw blushers and also instantly fell in love. These have reflective particles in them so they leave a lovely sheen on the skin, almost like a hybrid of a blush/highlight. Both blushers were from the 'Baked' range.  Vivid Baked Blush (left) - Bang Bang your d...

PRODUCT REVIEW - NIVEA LIP BUTTER RASPBERRY ROSE

Image
Let me tell you about the story which led me to the finding of this hidden gem... I received a 'Nivea' gift bag for our works Christmas Secret Santa - A little annoyed as i had gifted a hand painted mug with the quote 'Ian took part in this secret santa and all he got was this mug' GENIUS however I digress, the real winner from the depths of that hideous fuschia bag was the lip butter in the flavour 'Raspberry Rose'.  Now if you know me you will know I am a huge fan of the Nuxe Rev De Meil and the Clarins ones. However in winter (or just life) - my lips don't fair too well. We might just have a new fav, firstly it smells amazing! Fresh and fruity, the texture is light but moisturising and as its slightly tinted it actually makes my lips look pinky which is a bonus. The only downside is that it doesnt last ages maybe an hour or so but thats to be expected. I think we're onto a winner here... plus its super cheap compared to some of my real favourit...

PRODUCT REVIEW - LANCOME ENERGIE DE VIE LIQUID MOISTURISER

Image
Since I saw Estee LaLonde talk about th is product in a blogger haul I have had it on my mind ever si nce ...There was something about a 'liquid' moisturiser that was very appealing and the packaging just looks fresh and cool and I instantly wanted to put this stuff all over my face! The only downside of this is the price...it is £42 for 50ml so is it worth the money? It's inspired b y ne w Korean beauty technology this has Goji Berry extract and Lemon B alm oil which is supposed to help you looked energised and hydrated.  Ok so after 4 weeks of use I thought I could finally give you my personal and honest review of th e product. F irst of all the product d oes smell slightly 'l emony ' but after you work the product on your face you can't sme ll it any longer. As this is a liquid moisturiser I use two pumps for my entire face and just work it into the skin with circular motions. After using the product I fel t that my skin look plump and a little ...

PRODUCT REVIEW - URBAN DECAY MOONDUST EYESHADOWS (GLITTER ROCK AND SPACE COWBOY)

Image
Well it seems I cannot keep myself away from anything glittery (I'm just a sucker for anything shiny) But oh my, these Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadows do not dissapoint. I got two colours, the more toned down colour 'Space Cowboy' and the more funky 'Glitter Rock' alth ough I had to restrain myself from not buying every colour! I really like the packinging of these, they look a little nicer than most single e yeshadows. The eyeshadow itself is very smooth and finely milled which makes the glitter particles s hine through more. Unlike most g litter eyeshadows t hese don 't have chunky bits i n them and th ey glide on . The colour payoff of these is immense! Highly pigmented one swipe will cover the entire eyelid and if you want even more impact you can wet your brush.

PRODUCT REVIEW - STILA STAY ALL DAY LIQUID LIPSTICKS (BELLISSIMA, PATINA AND DOLCE)

Image
Hello Everyone! Todays post is based on liquid lipsticks...These are having a moment right now! I know there are many different ones avaliable from the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits to the Kat Von D ones ... B ut for us in the UK both these are very difficult to get hold of, however the Stila St ay All Day Liquid Lipsticks on the other hand are a lot easier to get.   I have got 3 of these to swatch for you, all of them are from the 'nude' category but all of them really do differ in shade.  Fir st up is 'Patina' this is the darkest of all the shades I ' m swatching . In colour it comes up as a mid-toned mauve pink. All of the liquid lipsticks have a slight caramel smell to them but this goes pretty fast. I really like Patina on the lips it makes them look fuller and plump. Even though its qui te dark you can wear this shade anytime and I think it would look lovely on all skin tones. N ext up is the shade 'Dolce' if you look closely in the tube...

PRODUCT REVIEW - JOHN FRIEDA BEACH BLONDE SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER AND MASK

Image
For those of you who don't know I have blonde hair and I have been recently testing out the John Freida Beach Blonde collection. After finishing off both the Sham poo a nd Conditioner here is my honest review...   I found that the cool dip shampoo lathered really well and left a fresh minty smell on my hair and gave me that slightly tingly feeling on my scal p when washing . The smooth seas conditioner also smelt amazing! It nourished my ends and left them feeling super soft.  I would say my hair looks more of a bright, beachy blonde with a natural shine. For when my ends are heading towards the dry side I whack on the kelp help hair mask and this stuff is amazing it leaves my hair very soft and cared for.  For around £5 a bottle this is the general price for a good shampoo and conditioner. Packaging wise I really like the unusual shaped bottles and the mint green colour is very appealing to me and so is the small which is amazing and I could snif...

PRODUCT REVIEW - BY TERRY HYALURONIC SUMMER BRONZING VEIL

Image
I never really wanted this to be honest, but you ladies know, when there is a sale on, you want it! And we can see how this purchase ended up happening... Anyway, to the actual review! This is actually matte and has no shimmer in it, which I was surprised about but I'm very happy about it as it turns out...It leaves a golden glow behind on the skin, the perfect sunskissed look. It can be very sheer or you can build it up to be more visable but it looks beautiful either way. The texture of this is like a mou sse, almost a 'whipped' texture which is different from anything else I have seen. I think that this wou ld look very good on tanned skin. It is quite dark so if you don't have a tan already then the ti n iest amount goes a long way. I would definit ley say if you are heavy-handed you could end up looking like a wa tsit. So go lightly and building up the layers is key. However when on the skin i t looks very natural and blurs with the skin to create a lovely and ...

PRODUCT REVIEW - SHU UEMURA PAINTING LINER

Image
I have always been an eyeliner pen kind of gal. But this was a sale purchase and i wanted to see how I would get on using an eyeliner paint pot...It definitly takes a little more skill to apply but after a few attempts I found this to be pretty easy to use with an eyeliner brush. The product itself comes in a gel form that doesn't crease or flake, it creates a fluid line that lasts. It's super black which i like and you can really draw the perfect line with it.

PRODUCT REVIEW - SHU UEMURA METAL INK EYELINER

Image
After I saw this i had to have it! This is an eyeliner that looks metallic, the colour I got was brown . I just though this would look so good on a night out when you dont want to spend ages blending eyeshadows together etc, a swipe of this and it's got something to to it than just your plain old regualar eyeliner. The fact is th at this is 'metal' it has a shine to it. The product itself will stay put for a long time. It comes as a wand that unscrews from a pot, but this is basically like using an eyeliner pen. I'm really loving using this right now as it just adds something else to your look!

PRODUCT REVIEW - YSL LE SAHARIENNE SUNKISSED BLUR PERFECTOR BALM-POWDER

Image
This I have wanted to have for an age but couldn't find anywhere that stocked it! But Boots was my saviour! I snatched this up in an instance and fell in love with it straight away. First of all the packing of YSL products out rivals all and this was no exception, it even comes with a little pouch and a brush/sponge duo too. (It's the little things!) This is such a miraculous product, I know it says 'blur' in the title but it really does just that! Blurs over all imperfections and makes everything look much smoother than before you applied it, which is kind of odd for a bronzer to do?! Again this gives you a gorgeous glow and you can even use this to contour if you like, although I really like it to add some warmth to my skin. I really do think this is my favourite bronzer, I'm a big fan of this and really reccommend you try this!

PRODUCT REVIEW - STILA EYES ARE THE WINDOW SHADOW PALETTE (SOUL)

Image
If you haven't read my previous post on the 'Spirit' palette go check it out, however I will do a quick re-cap. I love these eyeshadows! They are buttery and blend very easily, the shade  range in each palette is great, you pretty much use all the shades which I personally find very hard to do as there is at least one 'dud' shade in the bunch, but not with these! I was so impressed with my 'Spirit' palette that I went out and bought the 'Soul' palette, this is towards the more brown/nude family where are the 'Spirit' palette is more in the rosegold/brown family however they are both gorgeous! These retail at £30 in the UK. Not the cheapest palette but for 12 great shades I think this is a bargin compared to others, etc; Charlotte Tilbury palettes which only have 4 shades and costs £38! I also think the quality of these eyeshadows is great, they are soft and creamy and blend easily. Colour-wise the matte shadows take a bit more applicati...

PRODUCT REVIEW - LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK EYESHADOWS

Image
I got these as a set of mini's, you get six differnet colours in a set, varying from mattes to shimmers. All of the colours are all very wearable and I wouldn't say that there is a 'dud' shade in the bunch. I really like the texture of these, they are very smooth and glide on to the eyelids without effort, so great for putting on in a rush!  As these are cream eyeshadows they can tend to slip and slide on the skin, however these have really good staying power, I went straight from work to the gym and this was still in-tact after a good sweat! I would say these could rival the longevity of the By Terry Ombre Blackstars! Big statement, I know! Sugar Frost - A gold shimmer Ganache - A matte dark brown Khaki - A moss green with shimmer Amethyst - A light pinky/purple with shimmer Aubergine - A matte dark plum Rosegold - A pink/gold shimmer

PRODUCT REVIEW - BECCA BACKLIGHT PRIMING PERFECTOR

Image
I have waited quite a while to get my hands on this beauty! (It came from SpaceNK if you live in the UK like I do.) The product itself is supposed to act as a 'instant filter' for your skin. It comes off the back of the Becca S himmering S kin P erfectors and is basically a bottle of 'illumination'. Following all of that, once I got it, I put it straight on my face and I can tell you that I saw an immediate difference using this primer compared to my others. My skin looked my flawless and radiant and I had a glow about me that I have never seemed to of got before. Another great thing about this product is that you don't need a lot, a pea-sized amount will cover your entire face. I put this on after I used my morning facial oil and it was a winning combination. Not only does it give me a wonderful glow but my skin also looked smoother and more even, my foundation sat better on my skin. I love this primer and would highly reccommend you try it! Below I have add...

PRODUCT REVIEW - STILA EYES ARE THE WINDOW 'SPIRIT' PALETTE

Image
I love this palette! It is my current go-to for eyeshadows. You get in total 12 shades to choose from and there is not a 'flop' in the bunch they are all great colours. This is great for a present or to take away when you are travelling as you have 12 shades in one pretty compact palette. The texture of these are buttery and the blend quick easily. I'm a pretty big fan of this product! Colours: Kitten, Puppy, Pigalle Oasis, Jezebel, Barefoot Wheat, Golightly, Espresso Chinois, Slate, Pewter

A RE-DISCOVERY! UNA BRENNAN - FIRMING NEROLI OIL

Image
So I was curiously looking through my bathroom cabinet that is filled with a lot of products that I don't use anymore, but I'm not quite there to throwing them out...If you don't live in England then you may want to know winter is upon us. It's cold and windy and raining, and my skin does not like it one bit! My face is dry and de-hydrated so I have been searching online for an oil, to really help with my dry skin, but I was looking in my cabinet and found the Una Brennan - Firming Neroli Oil. I know I'm only 21, and don't need 'firming' products quite just yet but I remember buying it because it has rosehip oil in it, which I was quite obsessed with at the time. I though 'hey, it's already here, let's give it another go'...and so I did. I'm very glad I did becuase this stuff is amazing! It's quite unusual as you work it onto dry skin and leave it a couple of minuets and then get a damp cloth and wipe the remainder off. But the fe...

PRODUCT REVIEW - CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAGIC FOUNDATION

Image
The actual foundation itself is very nice. I really like the demi-matte finish it gives. It has a very good coverage and my skin is having a real nightmare recently and with this foundation you can't tell (for the most part) that I have blemished and marked skin which is great!  The texture is quite 'thick' so make sure that you really work the foundation into the skin otherwise you might get that 'cakey' effect, which no-one wants.. I do however feel like it let's your skin breath when applied right and leaves it hydrated. I also feel like you don't need that much product compared to other foundations as it does have great coverage so your using less product, and it should last for a good long while which is great for you and your money! The price of the foundation is around £29 I believe, I think this is quite a reasonable price for a high-end foundation, compared to my beloved By Terry Cover Expert which is about £45 so your (or should I say I...

PRODUCT REVIEW - CHARLOTTE TILBURY THE RETOUCHER CONCEALER

Image
I've heard a lot of great stuff about this and wanted to get it for the purpose of adding light to the dark circles under my eye area.  The product itself comes in a handy wind-up pen, that when you twist the bottom the product come out the brush and you just swipe it on to the skin, very quick and easy. The product is quite thick in consistnacy but it givesgreat coverage which is what you look for in a concealer.   As you can see to the right of the 'blob' I have applied the product and it does look more glowy and alive than the rest of the skin on my hand. I'm really enjoying using this product right now. It's not overly thick in consistancy so it's easy to work it into the skin which I like in a concealer.
